3/10/24 - The Desert of Lent - Cycle B

Dear Families,

As a faithful community, we continue the journey of reading the Cycle A readings at the 9:00AM and 11:00AM mass with the adults who will be receiving the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. Last Sunday Jesus revealed himself to the Samaritan woman at the well and his living water. This Sunday Jesus heals the man born blind and reveals himself to him as the Son of Man.

This video is based on the Gospel of John, Cycle B. Jesus said to Nicodemus: “Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up so that those who believe in Him will have eternal life.” “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life”.

God so loved the world that he sent his only Son to reveal his love for us and to save us. In Jesus’ words and actions, we see God’s love and forgiveness. Jesus is a light in the darkness. Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus teaches us that love means showing others the love God has shown us in sending Him. Jesus helps us avoid the darkness of sin; Jesus is our light.

As a family watch video in its entirety and then ask each other these questions.
What light does Jesus give our world? How can you reflect the light of Christ to others?

Querida Familias,

Como comunidad fiel, continuamos el viaje de las lecturas del Ciclo A en la misa de las 9:00 a.m. y 11:00 a.m. con los adultos que recibirán los Sacramentos de Iniciación en la Vigilia Pascual. El domingo pasado, Jesús se reveló a la mujer samaritana en el pozo y su agua viva. Este domingo Jesús sana al ciego de nacimiento y se revela como el Hijo del Hombre.

Este video está basado en el Evangelio de Juan Ciclo B. Jesús le dice a Nicodemo: "Así como Moisés levantó la serpiente en el desierto, así tiene que ser levantado el Hijo del hombre, para que todo el crea en él tenga vida eterna". "Porque tanto amo Dios al mundo, que le entrego a su Hijo único, para que todo el que crea en el no perezca, sino que tenga vida eterna”.

Dios amó tanto al mundo que envió a su único Hijo para revelar su amor por nosotros y viene a salvarnos. En las palabras y acciones de Jesús, vemos el amor y el perdón de Dios. Jesús es una luz en las tinieblas. Jesús es la luz del mundo. Jesús nos enseña que amar significa mostrar a los demás el amor que Dios nos ha mostrado al enviar a Jesús. Jesús nos ayuda a evitar las tinieblas del pecado; Jesús es nuestra luz.

Como familia vean el video en su totalidad y luego pregúntese el uno al otro.
